I know what he means, but I sort of shudder to consider the possibility that we could lose everybody before this thing's over!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08589856495993730380noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5425718396565573656.post-12188603000333215582010-03-29T19:10:07.446-07:002010-03-29T19:10:07.446-07:00Thanks! Really liked that element of it.

It really does seem like powerful redemptive symbolism - though I'm afraid you're right about the suffering too. I suppose that's something none of them will be able to avoid at this point...Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07191855305749074736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5425718396565573656.post-14943603393992000202010-03-29T18:46:09.099-07:002010-03-29T18:46:09.099-07:00Nice. :-) I really liked that they decided to give...Nice. :-) I really liked that they decided to give Richard such an epic love story for his back-story -- not at all what I was expecting!

It's a really lovely moment when he puts Isabella's cross around his neck again. It seems so momentous in terms of his decision to rest in her forgiveness and love, and to embrace the right way again...though the fact that such a way is symbolized by a cross also indicates, I think, that Richard's suffering is still not over. But I think it also indicates that his suffering (both what he's gone through and what he may yet go through) is redemptive.Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08589856495993730380noreply@blogger.com
